Brief Description
Polystyrene is a thermoplastic substance, which is in solid (glassy) state at room temperature, but flows if heated above its glass transition temperature (for molding or extrusion), and becomes solid again when cooled. Production methods include thermoforming and injection molding. GPPS is used in injection-molding and extrusion applications and for making extruded and expanded foam products. Final products range from disposable cutlery, foam insulation and packaging materials, cups, and compact disc jewel boxes.
